However, Zero's friends are caught by an underworld gang whose heist the group had foiled. In order to rescue them, Zero is forced to enter a gambling competition hosted by a rich, rotten old man who is looking for a talented gambler to be his rep player in an upcoming gambling tournament for millionaires from all over the world. Distant Guardians Part 3 is the 3rd episode of LOTM: Distant Guardians Continuing their search for the next Guardins, Sanderson and the others arrive at a high school. It is there they must stop someone from assassinating the next guardian. Gambling Emperor Legend Zero is by the same creator as Akagi and Kaiji, Fukumoto Nobuyuki. However, the gambles tend to be based around forcing the player to solve a puzzle set up by the house, rather than defeating other players in games. It also focuses heavily on the games themselves and very little on the psychology of the players, in contrast to Fukumoto Nobuyuki's other works. Fukiyose Seiri frowned as she passed students is the hallway of a Certain High School. They were talking about that Level 0 again. Although the rumours had died down right after the Number 1 was supposedly 'defeated' they were still the topic of many forums and gossip among the lively students.
